Ana Lucía García
Ana Lucía García, head designer at AG, is an architect specializing in product design who is inspired by her environment, the balance between nature and city life, and her family her father is an architect, her mother is an interior designer, her older sister is a fashion designer, and her younger sister is an artist. Her upbringing and her studies resulted in what today we know as AG.
From a young age, she was encouraged by family and friends to share her artistic abilities with the world, which led to her first venture at the age of 15, when she started a business selling hand painted phone cases, and later expanded to other accessories.
While studying at Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, she was introduced to 3D printing for making models. Later in her career, Ana took a failed project and decided to create something beautiful with it. She created earrings that added a “pop” to an otherwise simple outfit, that were different from traditional gold and silver accessories, and, most importantly, brought joy and confidence to the women wearing them.
This was meant to be a temporary venture in which she made these accessories available to close family and friends, but the positive feedback, demand and support from friends and strangers alike was overwhelming and AG was born.
In summary, AG is a project that shows us that a failure is an opportunity, if you have the right mindset. Since the conception of AG, Ana has expanded her brand to more than earrings and her catalog includes rings, bracelets, and hair pieces.
Today, her hopes are that her story and her pieces inspire women to be confident in something outside of the box, that each accessory makes them feel special and fun, and shows them that every day you’re a step closer to achieving your dreams.
